Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-03-21

This policy explains how MathSatChallenge (MSC) and msc.almanahj.com handle data when you use the service. By using the app or website, you agree to this policy.

1) What data do we collect?

We collect only the data needed to operate the service, improve the user experience, maintain fair competition, and prevent abuse. This may include:

  • Account data: email address, display name or name if available, sign-in provider (apple/google), and provider user ID.
  • Profile data: the profile image uploaded by the user in the app, the display name chosen in the profile, and other public profile information such as country when available.
  • Competition usage data: current level, points, answer results, number of attempts, time spent, accuracy, progress history, and performance-related statistics.
  • App settings: language (arabic/english) and display preferences.
  • Basic technical data: device or operating system type and general crash diagnostics when needed to improve stability and troubleshoot issues.

2) How do we use this data?

  • Operate your account and manage your profile.
  • Save progress, points, and competition results.
  • Display leaderboard information and performance-related results.
  • Maintain fairness and transparency between contestants.
  • Detect cheating, automation, and abusive activity.
  • Improve question quality, service stability, and the overall user experience.
  • Provide support and respond to inquiries when needed.

3) Profile and leaderboard

Some public profile information may be displayed within the app as part of competitive features such as the leaderboard and attempt details pages. This may include the display name chosen by the user in the profile, which may be a nickname instead of a real name, the profile image uploaded by the user in the app, the user’s country when available, and certain attempt results and performance-related statistics such as level, ranking, number of correct answers, accuracy, and time spent.

This information is displayed in order to organize the competition clearly, maintain fairness and transparency between contestants, and present performance results and statistics in a way that is easy to understand within the competition environment.

If a user prefers not to show their real name, they may use a nickname as their display name in the profile. Users may also control the profile image they upload to the app.

4) Tokens and on-device storage

A login token may be stored on your device to help keep you signed in. It is stored locally, such as in the ios keychain. You are responsible for securing your device. When you sign out, the token is removed locally according to the app’s sign-out process.

5) Data sharing with third parties

We do not sell or rent your personal data, and we do not share email addresses with third parties for marketing purposes. Email addresses are not displayed publicly within the app or on the leaderboard.

Limited data may be shared only when necessary to operate the service, such as:

  • Sign-in providers: apple/google to complete authentication and verify the account identity.
  • Hosting, security, and infrastructure providers: to operate the servers, protect the service, respond to attacks or abnormal requests, and improve reliability.

Attempt results, progress, and statistics are not shared except to the extent necessary to operate the service and competition-related features within the app.

6) Children

MSC is an educational app. If the user is a minor, the service should be used with parental consent or supervision where appropriate. We recommend not submitting unnecessary personal information in the app, and using a suitable display name if the user prefers to limit personal identification in public features.

7) Data retention

We retain data as long as needed to operate accounts, the service, and competitions, or to comply with legal and security requirements, or to prevent fraud and abuse. Limited technical logs may also be retained for a reasonable period for security and service improvement purposes.

8) Your rights

  • Request access to the basic account data we hold about you.
  • Request correction of inaccurate information, such as display name or certain profile data if stored.
  • Request to update your display name or replace it with a nickname through the profile, where available in the app.
  • Request deletion of your account or certain data, subject to technical feasibility and applicable legal or security requirements.

9) Security

We use reasonable and appropriate safeguards to protect data, such as encrypted connections and access controls based on operational need. However, no method of transmission or storage over the internet can be guaranteed to be completely secure.

10) Policy updates

We may update this policy from time to time when the service evolves or new features are added. Continued use of the service after updates are published means you accept the updated version of this policy.

11) Contact

For privacy-related questions or requests, please use the contact options available within the app or through the official website.
